TequilaWorks - Senior Character Artist

Tequila Works team is looking for a highly creative and motivated Senior Character Artist for our next, undisclosed project. In this position, you will be expected to help define the character quality bar for the project by creating top-quality characters for current games. You will also be expected to play a critical role in setting best technical practices for the development of our character tools, pipelines and systems.
Responsibilities:
· Working with Art Director and Production team to define key milestones and deliverables.
· Actively accepting and providing feedback to the character art team.
· Ability to work with the Art Director to ensure consistency between vision and implementation of game character assets.
· Collaborating with Art Director and technical teams to develop Real-time game character procedures & pipelines.
· Making a significant, direct contribution to the creation of character art.
Requirements:
· Must have 3-4+ years of experience in video games, film/television or equivalent.
· Art-related degree and/or comparable professional experience.
· Exceptional visual and technical understanding in sculpting, 3D modeling & texturing (both high- & low-resolution characters).
· Experience and/or education in sculpting and drawing organic forms with an · emphasis on anatomic correctness.
· Proficient in Maya (preferred), 3D Max or XSI.
· Mudbox or Zbrush proficiency is a must.
· Works well with deadlines.
· Demonstrate understanding of Next Generation texturing.
· Astounding Portfolio. Please include comparison screenshots and/or turn-table of model in wire frame, AO and final rendered image. Please include software used and poly count where applicable. Hand-painted texturing highly expected. · Traditional art foundation.
· Proficiency in multiple styles, including realistic, cartoon and several degrees of stylization.
Bonus Qualifications:
· Self-motivated and driven for excellence.
· Technical knowledge.
· Experience with skeleton/rig creation.
· Strong sense of design.
