Hey guys, I'm currently trying to improve my 2D Skills, and doing some studies. I'll try to keep this thread updated, hope you like it. Comments and Crits are always welcome.
This Portrait of a friend of mine is a bit old. Whenever i was painting on former stuff, i messed up the values. So i tried to concentrate only on values, therefore black and white. I learned alot doing this, but i wasted to much time on unnessecary details.
This was done last Weekend. The Cutie on the next picture is my little niece. This time i tried to really focus on the overall values, and not to spend to much time on details. I also set myself a deadline: Finish it on the weekend, and never touch it again. I was a bit tempted to do a little rework when i saw it on a other screen with different contrast-settings, but it'll be probably better if i do new stuff
Let me know what you think, thanks!

Any original stuff to show?
Currently I'm not doing any original stuff, i try to focus on practicing and learning at the moment.
This time i wanted to construct the motive, instead of just rendering it till it seems right. However, i rushed the part a bit and as it turned out, it's not quite accurate. I couldn't recognize some anatomical-things on the reference pictures, so i made them up (the claws e.g.). The rendering was quite fun at the beginning and i learned a thing or two, but it got really annoying in the end, I can't look at this bug anymore.
Still, beautiful stuff man, you're building yourself a strong foundation. What's your plans after school?
Well, I'm not in school, just trying to get some practice done after work. An then i guess.. I'll see where this road will take me. I just want to draw.
So what's your field of work?
Was distracted over the last two months.. stuff. Ready to move on! Experimented with the mixer brush tool:
There are some Char- and Landscape Mini Studies (a 30 min.). And yet another Portrait:
There's a samurai Sketch and a bunch of 20 min. mini Landscapes (bottom left took a bit longer ^^)
