So i am making a huge terrifying bossmonster.
its going to be a 4m/13ft huge coconut crab.
actualy its going to be a huge mutated crab with a nuclear reactor on its back, inspired by a coconut crab.
and hes boing to be fighting this guy

also getting confortablw with hard surface; this took me only 5 hours
what did you do the hard surface stuff in?
i know there is a bit of a hype going on around here for zbrush, but im way more confortable with max for hard surface.
i like the highrez on this, but i feel like youre putting too much weight on the high-frequency details with harsh black on the low. I think it'd do wonders if you'd lay off the AO a little bit and try to reign the detail in so it doesn't overpower the over all forms

though i recognized most of the color variations that look realy cool, dont work so well in the engine
They also make it hard to instantly recognize it as a giant crustacean. The red shell sells it immediately and works very well.
also put all the stuff into the engine and so far and everything performs pretty good.
