Looks good dude, just needs more props all arround, the streets look kinda empty. I also miss some green, like plants or trees. I also like those carnival hanging ropes to the upper left, could use more of them :P Always nice to see what your cooking up Wiktor
Looking pretty pro-boss. The new pavement sizes definitely help with the scale. The town itself reminds me a lot of the towns in Tibia if they were in 3D.
Wow I never thought of that. Also, I miss the golden days of Tibia :poly122:
i just wanted to chime in here and tell you that the way you lay-outed your textures into that atlas map and how you reuse em and how that re-usability increases batch-ability .... THAT IS exactly how every environment should be build
Thank you all so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it!
I've been tweaking the scene a little bit, but I've been sick with the stomach flu, so I haven't been able to do much, but I feel that I'm happy with it, especially since I first planned to only do the first street.
So I think I'm calling this one done. I'll see if I can get a flythrough up within the upcoming days.
Looks amazing. Can I ask how you went about the buildings? Did you just import the building in as one model and assign different materials to each section?
@Hayden Zammit: I just imported each building as a separate model and assigned the material. The material had all the different textures on one sheet, so no need to use multiple materials. You can see a WIP texture sheet on the previous page in this thread.
Dude that looks fantastic! Everything about this environment is awesome:
- The textures read really well
- The composition is fantastic
- Love the sense of depth
- The lighting is very interesting
- Great use of modularity
Thanks for the kind words guys! I really appreciate it!
@jeffro: You mean on the alley shot? Then yeah, I had some problems with lightmaps not displaying at full resolution sometimes. I will look into that. Thanks!
hi Wiktor
i have a couple questions I hope you can answer
How are you grabbing these screenshots?
You say you use the same material for all buildings, does this mean your buildings are all made up of the same pieces but arranged differently to add variation? If you get a minute and can be bothered, can you show us?
