EDIT: I'm pleased to announce that 3dmotive has purchased the rights for this video. It should be available in their training library in the coming weeks. However, I cannot sell the video any longer. Thank you Polycount for the incredible 2 months on my new adventure, and for how many new people I've met on the ride. imbueFX will still have new videos in the future, with probably a much smaller focus and mostly free content.
A few of you wanted to know when this was ready, so here we are!
http://imbuefx.com/products/cascade-the-complete-beginners-guide/
With 10 chapters and nearly 7 hours, we cover a great amount of Cascade. There's also some introduction to materials and some demos on how to paint textures for your particles.
Check out the teaser here, and look at my channel on Youtube for the free bonus chapter from this set:

This isn't a set of "how to make
" tutorials. This is really aimed at truly understanding VFX concepts, art theory, and technical application. My target is someone who wants to make a career out of FX.
And lastly, if you haven't already, take a look at our free hour long set on youtube for creating a dynamic sparks system inside of Cascade.

That's it and thanks for your time!

EDIT: Quick question, didnt seem like there was any way to register for the site but will I be able to re-download this in the future? There was a register button but no way to log in,
1) You should get an order confirmation email from imbuefx.com with a link (not the paypal/google checkout email)
2) Go to orders on the top, enter your order # and email and it will give your link again.
And of course please use the contact section on the top if you have any issues! I'm always here to help.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any issues with the purchase process and any feedback you have in general
Gonna purchase one too
EDIT: is it just me or is this really cheap?
@Visceral: Yes, it is ludicrously cheap! Especially comparing it to Eat3D's and Gnomon's Cascade tutorials. That's part of why I'm doing this. I'm not some big company with lots of overhead and employees. I do everything on my free time and consider this a side-project for fun.
I really have no idea whats covered but in the free tutorial id love to see some coverage on FumeFX and how to bake out fire and smoke and such.
Maybe something for the future?
I may include some fumeFX stuff in a future set, not entirely sure yet. But I feel like there are already lots of resources already in fumeFX. We'll see
btw, I reckon you should post this in general, as it will get more views, and will probably get bumped to the front page once an editor gets wind of it.
It would be really nice if the file was split in smaller files. I'm downloading it for the third time. First time the download stopped at 500 MB , second time at 1.1 GB. Hoping the third try will be the last one!
I have finally used the firefox add-on named "DownThemAll!".
Maybe multiple part could be more easier to download ?
I second that too !
And why not a news on the home ? :poly136:
I agree, downloading has been a serious thorn in everyone's side. I really do apologize. The real problem is my webhost, they hate that I'm giving out 2gb+ files, and they are throttling me at random. That's why I recommend using a download manager, it helps eliminate incomplete download issues. Plus almost 7 hours of HD video isn't going to be small If you can't get it to finish, I can give you a special ftp download link that will work.
I am working on the new set now, I should be able to announce what it is by Monday. Thanks again for all the support and patience.
Thanks so much! I seriously watch too much Simpsons, because I read your reply in this voice
