Hey everyone! This is Joe here! Finally decided to go around creating my own sketchbook thread after lurking around the boards for a few weeks...
Currently I'm in the final year of my animation course but I specialized in more towards 3D modelling, so expect lots of 3D post in the future!
I use Maya for most of my modeling but am trying Mudbox out now to sculpt some high poly models for baking.
And of course,C&C and feedback will be greatly appreciated! :poly121:
These are some props I did for practice but there's no textures yet
Thanks!

they appear to have no optimization at all, and level of blockiness seems really inconsistent.
By realtime rendering do you mean whether the models are made for games?
If so,my answer to that is nope.
To be honest most of the models were modeled without any plannings at all...all I've been told from my lecturers was to try and keep the polygons to quads and not worry about the poly counts for now.
But i suppose from now on i'll try to keep the polycounts to as low as i can
Thanks for the comment!
Inspired by Fallout 3!
Thanks!
One question, should I start out Mudbox using a mouse or a wacom tablet?
Also, it's kind of misleading when you show a wireframe of an object, and then the render next to it without the wireframe is in smooth preview, which adds a lot of geometry. So you might want to stick to the same previewmode as your wireframe.
Thanks!
Might get around to putting some textures on the models pretty soon, though my knowledge of texturing is next to none but will try my best !
Hmmm agreed...the handle doesnt look like it can support the weight of barrel as well... Will work further on it,thanks for the feedback!
I'm trying for a sorta dark and abandoned alley with only a dim light shining throughout the scene...probably gonna have quite a few cables hanging around and maybe try my hands on some environmental fog as well
