maya tangent space model viewer or engine?

Does anyone know of a way to view maya tangent space maps without a maya license? I'm working with a programmer who doesn't have a maya and it's time consuming for him to have to send me things to test.

if he's a student or has a student email he can download maya from students.autodesk.com for free, also i think there may be a trial of like 30 days available for him to download, not sure though
