Hi. I am working on a project at the moment involving the creation of a dinosaur and having it walk about in UDK. I decided on a T-Rex.
Here is my progress on the base mesh so far. If anyone can see something that I could improve on please let me know
A model I am using for physical reference (I am using pictures as well of course)
Head
Body - no legs
Scale
I intend to attach the head and change the position of the knee slightly.
That's where I am so far. Thanks for taking the time to look at my post

Looking forward to seeing it with the large T-Rex teeth.
Here is a Turntable of the base mesh I am preparing for sculpt.

Here is an update on my finished sculpt. I am also working on the texture as you can see in the video, any advice for me at this point would be pretty handy

Now I think the sculpt looks decent, but maybe the low poly version could use some more work. Baking in the normals might add some extra detail that will make it more refined and realistic. Hope this helps.
Here are some images of a T-Rex head to help shape up the face:
The whole scale shape of T-rex is a bit of a pain to get right if im honest. Allot of the images I found through research are very stylised compared to the information and data I read about from books and magazines. I agree though the face is off, and the wrong kind of long. My low poly is something I will re-do, to produce a better set of maps and define the geometry better.
It might just be the image making the arms look thin? On the sculpt they are quite muscular and thick... though tiny as my research has suggested.
Thanks again, I'll work on it right away
If anyone can suggest something else I have missed or just looks poor let me know; I'm at the point where I have stared at it too long!
I am working on a grime layer for the texture and starting playing around with it in UDK. By the end of this I will of rigged it and have it walking about in UDK as an NPC.
Also: I want to add some details in like:

I want to add the bumps and scales onto the model in order to liven it up a bit more.
(Don't get me wrong im not looking to create a Jurassic Park T-rex - she looks cool but she never looked like that)
Just an update on my model.
Your doing well, and the model is improving. We can see you really like modeling the guy. Keep going.
Sean
I see what you mean, though I am a little stumped on how to achieve this, mainly because he will be animated. If the tension is set throughout the body wont it look odd (or oddly tensioned) when he moves about? or should I just attempt to bring out the muscle rhythm more?
I like the skin detail suggestion!
Thanks again
