Hello I have a small problem with a rigged model , when I select the vertices inthe edit poly under the skin modifier it steps the whole model of a few cms down while when I get out of the object edition it reverts back into position , how can I fix this step ?

to stop it happening you need to do this...
In skin, go to the advanced rollout and diable "always deform" - this will put the mesh back to where it thinks it actually is
Move the mesh so it matches up with your skeleton when its in its bind pose
Go back to skin and enable always deform
if your skeleton is animated and you didn't set a bind pose you're pretty much screwed though im afraid
