/!\SCHOOL WORK/!\
Hi Polycount! This is the first time i'm posting my work in polycount so i think i have to do a little presentation. I am a student in real time computer graphics in a belgian school and i am in the last year before get my degree.
For this final year, we have to do a final exams work in team. My team is composed with 3 artists and 2 programmers. We are doing a demo of a fight game and i am responsible for the entire environment.
I created the concept art for the ring, which is a slab made with a futuristic maya style.I used a lot of time to create this concept, I apologize, i'm not a really good concept artist.
The impressive Benoit Ferriere (Mirof) concept art which was sculpted by Michael Vicente (Orbart) was one of my influences.
Any critics, suggestions, advices are welcome to help me. I will not change the concept art. I need your advices for sculpt and texturing especially.
Thank you for your futures answers
.
PS: i will started the sculpt
PS2: Sorry for my bad english ... I'm a belgian
PS3: No ... I prefer Snes or PC gaming

_FIGHT_ game
I was sitting here thinking "what the hell are people flying over in this game"
That looks really cool, good luck!
How did you do your concept ? With illustrator ?
A nice idea would be that you could maybe tell a story in the damage I mean adding cracks in is great but maybe have a little section a bit flatter then the rest where a really powerful slam hit, maybe try and paint a hint of ingrained blood into the cracks, like its been hosed but its not coming out fully
@ Hboybowen : I prefer zbrush, ndo2 is cool for futuristic art like metal plate (it's my personal view)
@ purkie103 : Yeah, i can do that. I'm afraid to do powerfull slam hit with the mirror repetition. I will try with the sculpt.
I post the first step of my stab. I Do a lot of high frequences cracks. When i will finish all of the stab, i put more "big" cracks.
Advices ?
Thanks to you Mirof it's very cheerful to have constructive critics from someone like you as my main referenvr. Here an update of my sculpting work

How did you do all your illustration details on your sculpt?
Did you drag alpha's over it? or sculpt it all with brushes>?
Cheers!
I use differents brushes for the "cracks" sculpt . Standard brushes and custom brushes.
Thank for your interest
I hope you understood my bad english..
The diffuse central slab is not over, too uniform. And I think restart again the large blocks, something is wrong.
My first post!
