hi guys, I'm still pretty new around here, and so this is my very first wip thread here at polycount. I'm designing a set of Skyrim inspired armor that would fit into the Mass Effect universe. I'm not very experienced in dealing with hard surface stuff, so I figured this would be a good challenge for me. And I really love Mass Effect and Skyrim. Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks for looking!
And here's some of my reference:

not sure if you were looking for help with a work flow buts thats how I would approach the model.
cool idea keep it up.
PS don't mind the clipping you see around the feet/leg area. it's not my fault; Maya just does that sometimes...
thanks for the heads up, tho!
lol... that comment is totally priceless XD i was thinking like this : ohhh sweet ! that is an easy spot *POW*
the warrior : OW! MY POOR SWEET BUTT IS TOTALLY RUINED !
so yes, he DOES need the butt cheek protection
just a side note : i was joking around so, don't take it too seriously ^^;
I've developed new-found respect for anyone who does hi-poly hard-surface modeling. keeping those edges crisp and the planes even is TOUGH.
