We are primarily looking for Character Artists (modelers and texture artists) and Environment Artists (modelers and texture artists). Character Artist Job Description
3D Character Artist
Multi-platform console and PC Titles
Shadows in Darkness is looking for exceptionally skilled 3D character artists for a team developing a next-generation title. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing, modeling, and texturing a diverse visual range of characters and creatures. A solid grasp of character design, anatomical form, structure, color, and light for the creation of both 2D and 3D art assets is essential.
Responsibilities
This digital sculptor will be responsible for making million poly models game ready, and support highest-res characters for renderings
This individual will create clean, deformable and efficient models, extract normal maps from high-res versions and sculpt morph targets for use within a Maya or Max/ZBrush pipeline
Must be able to communicate with the Art Director and accept criticism
Requirements
2+ years experience in game development modeling and texturing characters using Maya and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs)
Experience with Mudbox, ZBrush, (or equivalent modeling program) and the process of converting high-poly sculpted characters into lower-poly game models
An exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy and a keen eye toward form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regard to modeling and character design
Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps of different material types
Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
Desired Skills:
Have shipped AAA PC or console titles as a 3D character artist
Experience with the creation of next-gen shaders and materials

Environment Artist Job Description
Environment Artist
Multi-platform console and PC Title
Shadows in Darkness is looking for individuals to serve as 3D environment artist. The ideal candidate has experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments. A solid grasp of form, color, and light for both 2D and 3D art assets is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Must be able to communicate with the Art Director and accept criticism
Being able to create an environment asset and take it from initial concept to completion
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years experience in game development modeling and texturing environments using Maya and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs)
Experience in creating and implementing assets for Unreal
Experience working with a lead artist or art director in developing a unique and cohesive modeling and texturing style for environments
Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps
An exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modeling
Self-motivation, good communications skills, and a great team-player attitude
A passion for video games
Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group
Desired Skills:
Have shipped at least one AAA PC or console title in a similar position
Strong foundation in the traditional arts including, but not limited to environmental illustration
