Paradox Interactive may be a relatively small publisher, but it’s defined itself as a PC-first company that goes out of its way to make its customers happy. I sat down with CEO Fred Wester at this year’s PDXCon for a refreshingly frank talk about Paradox’s ongoing focus on PC gaming, his plan for the future, and the futility of DRM.
A fun and interesting interview and talks about the success of Magicka

its true, everyone knows drm stops no one its just a waste of capital overhead. Pirates are always going to crack a game.

Yes, but that hasn't been the goal for years. The goal is to delay the crack to boost first week sales and to avoid the pre-launch release of the game.

Whether or not that is useful or not up to debate, but nobody is thinking "this DRM will be completely unbeatable from now until the sun burns out"

gues they are thinking of it like "uh that DRM will be anoying the crap out of people who bought our game and the pirates will not have to mess with it, that shall boost our sales!"
