Recently Makoa
shared his paper craft model. I was blown away!
It seems like a very interesting technology, maybe not so new, but now mixed
with 3d it seems much easier to do. By using
Pepakura Designer software.
Basically it looks something like unfold3d, on the left- your imported 3d mesh, on the right- uvs, that you use later for print. You can even import texture!
Few examples of what can be done:
Also you can use those paper models to draw from, for study planes of the face etc etc. So many possibilities.

I played with that some time ago, building parts of a scale figure out of cardboard then filling the parts up with a mix of bi-component resin and styrofoam chunks. They somehow reacted together and formed an expanding foam that became rock solid, perfect for sanding the shapes into something smoother!

I should finish it maybe! But Im sure I would want to remodel everything haha
I love the idea
You should! That looks awesome, I like how it moves around like you'd expect a body would.
Obviously when you do you should record your progress for our entertainment

One day I'll get round to making myself an Iron Man suit and some Spartan armour to go with my USCM and WH40k gear
Paper Starships has been doing this for a least five, maybe six years. Probably closer to six.
I have a paper model of the Kushan Carrier from HW on my bookshelf that I built from plans on PSS. It's really neat to be able to actually hold great game art in your hands, although next-gen assets are getting further and further away from being good candidates for the process.
