why have I never heard of this? We're they in some remote place in the arctic (alberta) or something?
They were in London Ontario. They were formerly Sandbox studios before becoming dice Canada. When ea bought dice they shut down the studio. A lot of former dicers are here at DE.

I worked at Locomotive as a QA guy. That was a fun place to work, with a number of folks who'd been around the industry for a good while. Number of them moved on to Cryptic or other places afterwords.
I wonder what it would look like if they listed all the new studios that have opened since 2006, or greatly expanded their teams. Despite the crap that happens in a rough economy and competitive marketplace, there has been plenty of growth too - no use in dwelling exclusively on the negative.

it's kotaku.

Even though Kotaku ran an article on it. That's some great journalism there, Lou.
They also got the id Software layoff news from a Neogaf thread, which cited my Twitter as the source.
bad news sell. Or else everyone would read the weekly newspaper of the local church community... just sensationalist reporting
