Hey PC! First off, thanks to everyone for feedback on my portfolio. It has really helped to give me a direction for the skills that I need to work on. One of the big suggestions that I got from a lot of posters was to join a mod team and get to work on cranking out some environments. Since then, Ive been working with a friend to create a simple iOS game using UDK. We already have a pretty solid prototype together and Im currently working on creating a variety of assets for a pond environment.
I did a quick sketch to try and nail a feel for the environment (and yeah, Im not much of an illustrator).
Right now Im making low poly, hand-painted foliage. Im definitely out of my comfort zone with both these aspects, so I could really use some advice on what I could do better model/texture wise.

Btw, the assets look nice so far. The green is very vibrant and lively, the leaves and grass look very pleasing. You may want to add a bit of variation to the frond, it comes out a bit solid and bland compared to the dark/lights of the leaves and grass bits.
Also, lighten up the head of the cattail and add some texture to it. This might help: http://www.bio.brandeis.edu/fieldbio/Survival/Images/Cattail/cattail%20bud.jpg
