Hey everyone!
Posting about my senior thesis titled RoboLunky and my accompanying blog. I thought some people here may appreciate it. I draw a lot from a lifetime of playing video games, and I hope it comes through a bit in the art style of RoboLunky.
I actually just got great news from Chris T Geehan, part of Hyperduck soundworks. He will be composing the music for RoboLunky. You may have heard some of his work in the game "Undead on Arrival."

Here is my previs and a character turntable to show the style i'm shooting for.

Check out the blog for other updates and some modeling and rendering work I'm doing for some of my friends' thesis. There are also several mel scripts, those who use maya may find them ineresting. There are a couple that people here may be interested in; dbrRenderTool is a script to help maintain a linear workflow for rendering with mental ray; dbrMeshTools includes an interface for shrink wrapping geometry as well as a tool to help quickly place things like bolts on a surface.
Let me know what you think!

Here's a still that will be part of my credits.
I'm modeling and rigging the little jelly fish creatures, the ones in the above shot are just temporary, though the shader is fairly close I think.
