Need help with textures - For an Environment Scene in UDK

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I've been lurking for quite a while and found a lot of useful help from people so I have decided I'll join the fun and ask for some critiques and possibly hopefully get better myself :)

I currently have a Scene in UDK that looks like this. My goal is to have a good looking scene without normal maps, or specular maps, everything is purely hand-painted.

Currently, I am just missing the trees that I have yet to export and import into the scene

and here is the texture for the well base that I currently have, it's missing so much, proper highlights, shadows :( I don't know how or where to start in order to fix this damn thing, please help me =( It's so barren lol.

Please help me improve my texture work, I am missing something, I don't have 3D look to them imo, I don't know what it is or how to fix it :(
