@allaze-eroler - Glad I could be of help! One thing to remember though, is that when you add the "ScreenPos" Nodes they won't have "Screen Aligned" set to true as default (so you'll need to turn it on).
I was tearing my hair out for ages trying to figure out what was wrong with my material before I found that tiny little checkbox.
With regards to my scene, I've been fiddling with the lighting to try and make it seem cosier as well as adding some lens effects for the camera.
Edit: I have also just made a flythrough camera, so I am currently just waiting for the lighting build to finish before dumping out the frames for a video.
By the looks of things, I would hazard a guess that Rare utilised their famous "fur shell" technique that they used initially in Star Fox Adventures. Check out the silhouette:
My carpet is merely made from polys.
When I created it, I just made a base object (created in Maya) with mesh card quads scattered over it's surface (using Max's Scatter CompoundIObject tool).
I then orientate the normals of the cards directly 'up' using Max's Edit Normals feature (to give uniform shading across the object).
Next I transfer back to Maya to combine the meshes and apply simple planar map UV coordinates to the whole object.
This way, the cards are the exact same colour as the base mesh directly below them.
I'm currently developing a Super Nintendo version of "Banjo-Kazooie" using the style of "Donkey Kong Country", and after viewing your beautifully modeled revamp of Banjo's house, I'd like to invite you to help create content for the game.

That sounds like a fantastic idea and I would love to contribute! Although I have recently started a new job and I'm not certain how much time I would be able to put into the project.
I wouldn't want to promise anything and then let people down!
Hey Callum,
Sorry for the late re-reply. I understand about having a new job; that's why this project is free-time only; I really believe that you'd be an amazing asset to the project, and I hope that this may lighten things up for you.

This is very cute, I remember seeing this a while back when I first got my butt back into posting on Polycount.
- I'd say tone down the refraction from the heat particle effects... it's really distracting and causing way too much distortion. - somewhat texture stretching on the wooden structure on the right at the beginning of the video - The carpet fur looks really odd with the scene... I think because it looks like it's something you could get away with if you were doing pixel/voxel 3D artwork but since the rest of your scene is quite hand drawn/stylized it feels like the carpet fur could have been the same kind of style... just imo.
I think I'd agree with you on those points - especially the heat particle effects, as refraction and smooth distortion doesn't really gel with the more stylised theme.

omg viva pinata. but what is that, are those polys or fur sprites/particle effects??
