Hi I am currently working on my first character, and need some advice on making an arm gauntlet for my character. I initially just made a cylinder and then shaped it to be a basic forearm shape but it just doesn't look good to me. I want more of a form fitting gauntlet that looks like it is made out of 2 pieces. I also tried starting with a plane, shaping it a bit, then using ffd box to morph it into the forearm shape, and applied a mirror on the bottom with no success. Any good pointers on starting such a piece? Any help is great. I hate the gauntlet as it stands right now.

if its the low poly gauntlet you want, then the cylinder thing is a good start, or just select the polies of the arm where you want it to cover, clone them to a new object and expand them a bit, and tweak as needed to get the overall form and silhouette, then let your textures handle the detail work.

For high poly, really, just build the thing in the parts it needs to be in then build your low around it.
