Maya 2012 change border edge colour?

Is it possible to make border edges a different colour. I know that you can make them thicker than regular edges, but I'd like them to be a different colour.

I've looked for ways to do this, but without success.
Would also be really interested in finding out if it's possible and how.

I have looked in the maya command options for the border edges command but there is no way to input a manual color.
The only way I see is to set a color to your wireframe (by a specific command or by inserting your mesh in a layer).
