Although this wasnt the main thing that attracted me to this program I dont think that these preset textures that came with the program are working...When ndo2 loads them nothing appears on the photoshop window and there is nothing in any of the layers, even though they are named like seperate details to the normal (sharp cracks, tiny cracks, etc.)

I go to presets..., and then to active doc with the preset selected above but receive the same resluts. I dont get it.

Those are filters that are supposed to be applied to a photo or already made texture. There are no "textures" that come with nDo2.

ah ok cool. So I could use a photo of say, a similar material, to normal on top of these filters.

Yeah those presets are there for you to quickly apply a group of settings to that kind of surface image. So if you need a normal mapped roof tile, you need to create the diffuse, or use an image. With that as your base you apply the roof tile preset to that image and it will create a new normal map for you, based on that image, using the preset settings.
