Hi all,
Recently I downloaded the free educational edition of 3DS Max 2012 and after resuming my work on a model I'm having some issues getting used to the changes they added to the UV mapping stuff.
I have a couple really dumb questions if someone has a moment to answer them.
1. When I try to scale a UV (did I say that right?) it snaps back to the default size the quick pelt had. I finally figured out how to scale uniformly, but this size snapping is bugging me. I cant pack the UVs until I figure it out.
2. I'm still a little new to how seems work when pelting. I understand how to edit the Peal Seams (blue), but the Map Seams (green) keep screwing up my peels. For example, I have selected the side of a square and the top (its actually the side of a wall and a plane at a right angle on top) but when I quick pelt it separates both planes. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
3. Also, is it possible to weld edges/vertices that are separated by a Map Seam, or can I only do it if the polys were separated by a Peal?
Thanks in advance. This forum has been a huge help.

Not sure about the pelt mapping thing.
2 only pelt seams have an effect. It will also sometimes split along them for fun later on if youve stitched them
3 yes it is
I managed to solve it by restarting 3DS Max a couple of times.
I hope this helps anyone else who has the same problem in the future.
