(Royalty) Xitol Softworks LTD: ZONE

The team at Xitol Softworks Ltd have been working on a project called Zone: The Battleground for some time now and we are now in the pre-alpha stage of our project working hard on a demo for both publishers and platform owners to look at full funding for the project (including licencing technologies). Because of the state of the project and our timeline we are looking for additional developer to fit into key roles to help build on the Zone Universe and Zone: The Battleground. We are currently listing this project as a Royalty based system due to our funding at the moment but because of the fact we are sending a demo of to various parties we are hoping this situation will change in the near future. As our demo is set to go off on the end of January 2012 we are hoping new developers will be able to assist in creating demo content, artwork and other project related material as well as that our up scaling will allow us to finish the project sooner and look at post production plans. This is Xitol Softworks Ltd.’s first project as a team and has been in progress for a period of time already and new developers would be walking into a friendly organised team of indie developers, we are hoping this project will allow us to build up and localise the team better in the future (as we are currently a non-localised/remote team).

About Zone:

Zone is a Sci-Fi universe in creation for a number of years. Here is a link to key plot line dates up to the point of Zone: The Battleground.

Zone: The Battleground is currently an all multiplayer game featuring online multiplayer and player hosted games. It also features extensive player customisation that allows players to design their multiplayer look. Zone also features dynamic environments including space combat as well as unique looking multiplayer objectives for each faction. There will also be a ranking system for players allowing them to progress to newer levels and unlock new content. We aim to also offer post-production support to the game too in the form of patches, Title Updates and DLC. We will also be supporting the mod community by allowing our game to have mods. The intended maximum player size will be around 16-24 players to allow for close combat maps as well as outdoor maps that will allow for bigger gameplay. We do have plans set for post-production and where we want to take this project and the team.


Open Positions:

3D Artist - Environmental and Structural: (3 Open)
We are looking for some 3D artists good with modular skill and structural design to work with existing artists and level designers in creating multiplayer environments. Prior skill is a plus. Contact us (using the email at the bottom) for more details


3D Artist - Characters: (1 Open)
We are looking for some 3D artists good with character design to work with existing artists and animators in creating character models (with customization) and creatures. Prior skill is a plus. Contact us (using the email at the bottom) for more details


Concept Artist (5 Open)
We are looking for 2D graphical concept artists able of creating concepts for Zone and also working on graphical short stories if possible to expand the universe. You will be working with an existing team of artists within the Zone universe and responsible for the look and feel of the universe. Contact us (using the email at the bottom) for more details


General Programmer (1 Open)
We are looking for a general programmer with Unrealscript and C++ knowledge to assist in programming and supporting our main programmers. You will be working in a team of programmers and with other developers and be responsable for engine implamentation of code and assets. Prior skill is a plus.
