You know, with something like Lord of the Rings, I don't think it will get re-made. It holds up quite well, unlike the original Star Wars, which was obviously a lot longer ago!
Going to order the extended Bluray version today. Been a while since I've seen the films. Spending christmas by myself this year, so the films can keep me busy

I was actually watching the two towers on netflix last night...
Gollum doesn't hold up as well as he used to.
And thus shall the nerdrage commence!
I know it will be re-made at some point but whoever takes up the challenge has a hell of a job on their hands.
I hope it doesnt go the "lucas" re mastered star wars route. New digitally added scenes, old scenes re mastered and characters altered.
But.. Who knows
