Just curious, is anyone in here using one of these things to work?





For me it seems more like a huge gimmick, still I'd like to know the opinion of people that used it or uses it.

this really depends, some ppl like them some dont.
but if you set them up right,they really can be an improvement to your workflow!
imo they work well in maya in combination with a tablet, if you can get used to it xD.

I got one for free from Autodesk. Used it one evening, and then never used it again.
It takes too much space and I was too busy to learn the tool properly.
It left it in Belgium, so havnt had the chance to check it out again.

I have the smaller one at the bottom and while it is awesome I just find moving around like normal much faster, probably because I'm so used to it. It is really cool though ^^

So it's more or less what I thought, It's cool and different but for production, no one really uses it.

Pretty much, I'm sure some people use it but I just found it slowed me down when I was in a Maya trance..

I have the smaller one, been using it for...4 years now? Also got my previous workplace to buy me one cause I couldn't move around normally without it anymore It really sped up my workflow, that's why I love it.

Plus, it's always fun to see people come up to your desk asking what it is, then touching it. They always go "Whoa, what happened?"

Had mine for about a year, only used it a couple of times. The fact that it doesn't really work with Zbrush/Mudbox is a real let down. I sold mine about three weeks or so ago (i had the same one as the first image you linked). Just a fancy looking paper weight once the gimmick wares off.
