Hi, I'm working on a Springfield XD45 compact and I would appreciate any feedback and advice as I go through the process of taking my first asset from 3ds Max into a game engine. The Hi-Poly is about 75% done, I just need to fix some smoothing errors and add the finishing details. Thanks in advance.
Looking good, I own a XD 40, the subcompact version. So I look forward to you finishing this.
I chose to start with this model because I own one and it helps to be able to hold the reference in your hands and take it apart if needed, great guns.
I attempted to model this gun as well but was really quick and I didn't go into a lot of detail. I also own this gun and was wondering how you are going to tackle the I guess "grips" on the handle. Looking good so far.
I'm going model the details on a plane and then use the conform compound object to wrap it around the grip. At least that's the plan. If all else fails NDO.
The big issue I spot is that portion behind your trigger. It's causing some undesirable shading issues and could really use some cleaning up so it's more uniform.
Looking good. Some issues are the edges seem way to white and it just doesn't make sense. It could be the lighting. Try to add an under layer of metal and slowly remove the upper layer with brush. Also the lower receiver seems to have too much noise, so tone it down a bit.
