I just modeled and textured a roof that needs to be made deeper.
If I scale the object in one axis the texture starts stretching. Is there a way around this? To have the texture automatically start tiling instead of stretching with my edits?
Duplicate the original geometry then GATOR the UVs from the original onto the current geometry; leave GATOR live and select HIDE inputs on the GATOR dialog. Now move the GATOR operator up into the shape modeling region of the stack.
In the Image shader make sure you're using the GATOR UV property; If the GATOR'd texture projection property has the same name as the original then rename to something like Texture_Projection1_GATOR then you should see 2 properties in the texture projection combo box.
GATOR should have been around back then. It's the same driving force behind a lot of the merge polymesh options (so that would probably work as a substitute if you can't find the GATOR property).

Just curious cryrid. Do you use Softimage to do all your UV unwrapping?
Any suggestions on which program I should try for unwrapping non-organic shapes. Like columns, arches, and other architectural stuff?
I am stuck using version 6.02. Good'ol Foundation still going strong.
Thanks.
I don't think GATOR is available in Version 6.02.
Oh well. I'll make sure not to freeze my stack until I'm sure I'm done my object.
Thanks for the info.
