Hey everyone, been having some issues practicing a new pipeline for modeling. I running through each stages to make sure they will all work smoothly.
Pipeline is as follows
Sculpt Zbrush
Retopolgize in Topogun
Unwrap Low rez in Deep UV
Bake Maps in Xnormal (create cage in 3DS Max)
Texture Low rez model in Mari
I am at the stage where I need to crate some normals however I am running into somewierd issues. I could simply photoshop them out but I'd like to figure out what it is. Can anyone pin point why I get this errors? The ones circled on the map should not be there.

But it looks like your cage is to far from your model, it should only just cover it.
I have tried using Xnormal without the cage using the raytrace measuring tool but I get the same results. That line near the barrel is very frustrating, the trigger gaurd to looks way off.
make sure your low poly that you baked onto is 1 solid mesh and try making each UV island one solid smoothing group (you can just make you gun one smoothing group to test this easily)
