Hey guys,
So I finally got to make a portfolio of my own. WOOT. Before I start saying to much, I would like to thank ARTEM VOLCHIK, Timothee Yeramian (RoosterMap), Lonewolf3d, and a few others for being an inspiration to me through out my modeling career. Really helped me get here.
With that in mind, when I created my portfolio, I looked at designs/ideas/schemes that were used on many peoples portfolios here at poly count. So maybe some similarities might come up, but I tried to be as creative as possible and make everything my own.
Please critique my website or feel free to comment on the work itself in the website. Any post to me is a good post. Really appreciate it! Thank you in advance!

The biggest complaint I would level, which I'm sure you're aware of, is that only the first project really feels complete enough, and there is a severe lack of content. The only other two projects are a HP model and a WIP, which probably shouldn't be in a portfolio. I've got a couple lone HP models in my portfolio myself, unfinished, but I really think it's good here to take the pros advice and only use projects that are finished to some extent. So, in desperate need of content here - quality over quantity, of course, but you should probably aim for finishing another 3-4 solid projects to fill this thing out.
Like I said, I love the design of the site. Simple, loads quickly, my only complaint is that I personally hate the stuffy, chubby font thats crowding out those boxes on the right. I would use the same font that you have in your header.
Hope this helps!
Pieces 1 and 2 are fantastic, but the robot feels unfinished. I think you should pose it and make a sexy vray render like you did for the motorcycle.
Also, you only have one assets that illustrates your knowledge in baking and texturing. To fix this, I would make a small scene in UDK or just a few game assets rendered in a real time engine.
I have changed the text, and imo it has drastically changed the feel of the main page. For the better. Thank you, greatly appreciate the crit/help!
@Rooster; Wheelie isn't complete, but when he is, I will definitely get a Vray render up and running.
Like I told Razgriz, I'm in the works with trying to get more pieces to show ( I have a few that are 80% there, just need touching up on).
Btw thank you for commenting man!
Updates:
-Changed info text type on main page
-Removed non needed spacings on main page
-Fixed Resume PDF/Word Links (Now working)
-Edited Resume
Any other crits? Comments? Really appreciate any comment about the site/work! Thanks in advance!
Edit; oh and I will re-work the About me page to have more info.
Fixed up some more things. Anyways, this was suggested by someone I know, was wondering what you guys think. Do you guys think the current website main page is better or this one:

OH and here is a little treat. So far about 5 hours of work, yes there are many mistakes and things I want to fix.. but I think this will make a fine edition to my portfolio once I have it textured.
Based off of the concept:

*Please note that I know about a lot of the differences between the concept and my model. I am slowly trying to fix these up.
Comments crits on the website/my latest work?
sorry about sounding vague, but I can't say what it is that you need XD
You're applying to game studios?
@LRoy; I am applying to literally anything and everything (including freelance).
Looks like I am going to Uni first though.
As far as the bike is concerned, yea, it prob does look like a lot of flat colors, because that's what it is. This is a high poly, I did not make a low poly to texture.
Edit; Btw, out of curiosity, is there a reason you are asking why I am applying to studios?
Game assets require much lower specs to work in a game engine.
Also, I would nix the dates. It makes it seem like it took 4 months per model, which even if you did, you probably would benefit from not mentioning.
As far as the dates go, it says the month/year they were made. When you click on the model, it states how long I took on each, for example the top 2 only took 2 weeks. Not really sure where you are getting 4 months though.
Thanks for the feedback.
Merry Christmas Guys!~
Edit; so its brought to my attention that I did this the lazy way and it shows. I think I might give up on this model and move onto something else. heh.
P.S. they only wanted high poly, so I will not be doing any low poly for this. Time to get hauling on something new.
looks rly good and clean. tho there's no real noticeable separation between the rims of the wheels and the rubber.
Also, Yea, I just noticed.
Doing this for a friends mod:
(It's a halo covenant device)
Tho it kinda looks like its got a little rest for your iphone. maybe its a speaker from the future? haha
So I used to use Xnormal to make my normals, but today I stopped using it. Instead, I learned how to use 3ds max and man... I am glad I have. Next thing is texturing and fixing up small errors.
The model is 6k tri's. My limit for the mod is 10k tri's, so I'm pretty happy. I see lots of places that I could have reduced even more, but I'm under the limit as it is.
Lookin good! I really like your website layout. Nice and clean, and I like how you have the info on the side of the thumbnails.
Main thing about your portfolio, and the work that you have shown....is that you don't have anything thats really finished. Seems like you do the high poly, and bake a few things, but your really lacking when it comes to textures. Everything that you have textured right now is just solid colors. Maybe texturing the halo thing that you are currently working on would be a good start.
Keep it up man!
I am hoping this will lift the portfolio a couple notches.
Btw, thanks!
This is my first attempt at real texturing, but the metal parts are not done. Still very much WIP:
CnC welcome.
Concept: http://www.bobble.tucker933.com/edit1.png
Still a partial wip, high poly wise. Still some things to fix/touch up:

Videos are not on the site at the moment, I will have to work those in somehow.
Some new goodies in it:
Sorry photobucket is decreasing the quality, just look on my site for the more HD versions.
please let me know if there are any other problems, thanks!
Edit; New size of gallery is being updated, should be up in a few minutes
The background image in your original pages is too noisy - it'd be fine in more limited areas but is distracting when filling the entire screen.
I'd like to see more information for each of the projects - polygon counts for everything, textures and texture sizes, and tools used in the creation/rendering are pretty typical. You should also consider providing texture sheets and wireframes.
The slow fade between images in the galleries is nice, but drives me nuts; that's probably just a personal preference. Also, you should have some sort of index - e.g. "1 of 6" - to improve the user's experience.
The images for the 2D pages are too large. I understand the desire to show off your work, but most people want to take in the entire image at once. rather than having to scroll around. Design it so everything fits on a standard (1280x1024) screen, then let the user click to enlarge. I'm also not a big fan of automatic slideshows, but again that's probably a matter of personal preferences.
Yea, I assumed the art section would resize like the rest of my sections, but apparently not.
The slow loading of images drives me nuts...it really does make it painful to sift through your images.
I might suggest you just display the images all on the page so we can scroll through them.
Also, why isnt your halo covenent thing anywhere in here? lol that think is pretty cool.
Here is something I have been working on (Posting all progress):

Hope you guys enjoy some of this.
Hah, thats funny.
Hey guys, working on this side project. I had a night off from work, so I wanted to see what I could do in that time. I spent about 9 hours or so on this so far. Concept truck is by Mike Hill. He has a lot of awesome concepts, so check him out! (He has given me permission to use his concept).
Oh and I didn't block this out. Lol.
Keyshot and Max grabs:
Update for now.
All it had was a image saying "Under Maintenance" or something like that.
Thanks for the heads up!
We need to catch up sometime. This looks fantastic!
Looks great!
We need to catch up! Same wth you, higuy.
@Higuy and roosterMAP; Thanks! Ya, it's been too long!
Tiny little updates:
Firefox is flagging your portfolio as somehow malicious for me as well. The work that I'm actually able to see is nice though.
Small updates:
I am trying to decide if I want to make a low poly and put this into UE4. Not sure yet.
j/k tho it looks amazing I'd love to see a low poly of this one! ~
So I updated my portfolio layout. I wanted it as SIMPLE as possible. I think I really like this look. Renders are all temporary, since they are all screen shots. And resume does not work. This is mostly a layout test. Let me know if the site is still blocked. I had Google rescan it.
www.JoshDina.com
The work you posted here though is really good
This is weird. None of my friends are getting any errors and online scanners are not detecting anything anymore. Can you try it again and let me know if it is still occurring?
Thanks!
Edit: Can I have anyone who is encountering the page warning, please let me know? And possibly what country you are accessing from?
Thanks!
If I imagine myself standing next to it, I cannot think of tires that would have dimensions and grip like that. Theyre like small tires that got scaled up. Also a bump map / displacement / detail normal would help defining the size, right now it looks like a toy.
