Can i play too...:)
Going with some sort of vintage look for my mutant, and only diffuse texture map, gonna make a ref board later on,cheers!
Hope i made this thread properly:poly122:
i really like the chest/head/shoulders designs, compact and short :poly142:
maybe arms and legs could use more of the same kind of style
anyway, nice work
dude.. this is great. so much nice detail on him. only crit is that i think the straps on the back of his legs would look better if they were seperate.
Hey thanks jocz when i was designing him i was thinking about some clumsy disproportional (goofy)character, but i'm going to try with your idea, shortening his arms and legs and see how it works. Tadao215 : thanks mate, don't worry about those straps,i'm not going to bake any of this, going with only diffuse, this is just a sketch for my lowpoly:)
Did some polypainting on my mutant to get the feel of colors and final look,i made another version with adjusted proportions as well, still have to decide which one and start with low poly...
Tall:
Short:
Maybe it's difficult to see it on first glance, especially since they are on a separate images but they are quite different in proportions :poly122:
DockRock : your absolutely spot on,that's why i'm gonna stay with tall one.
ranek : thanks,i'll slow down now hehe
Sirdelita : well i wasn't really thinking about asymmetry, since i don't have much poly-s and texture on disposal, but i'll take that into consideration after i finish base mesh, thanks
Baddcog : thanks, but i'll go with tall one
Just working on retopo-ing base mesh,i'll post some images after i finish with low poly, cheers
Ravenslayer : thanks for looking, yeah about those details,i'm going with all hand painted only diffuse so i don't want to model them they're going to be in texture itself
Bishop313 : cheers mate,wicked idea
A bit of progress, i made a low poly mesh 2498 triangles, wanted to add some spikes since rules aren't so strict, but then again i wanted to obey the limit, and decided to drop those, next update will be textures i hope
well this could be my final images for my mutant, but since i saw the deadline is moved to 7th January,i might try and do one more texture variation, for cyborg player ha...
Here we go :
Awesome sculpt! I'm curious why did you go with just a diffuse map and emissive. I mean it looks really good even so but some normal map might have made it even better in my opinion.

ranek : thanks i appreciate it
SsSandu_C , pity : well i didn't want to bother with normal map from the start, since it's a very low rez texture i knew that the bake result on so many pieces will be blurry and wouldn't make much difference, also i wanted to practice some more hand painted texture style,i'm pretty happy how he turned out in the end, thanks for looking
Since deadline for submission was delayed i found some time and finished one more texture set, this one is for some kind of Robot team.I remembered this time and did the timelapse videos while working in zbrush, made 4 sessions and with help of my friend programmer merged them into one video and compressed him from 450 mb to 80,you can check it out it's only 13 minutes long. After that it took me one day to polish the texture in Photoshop.

Seems like embedding is not working
Hellz yeah, turned out awesome! Thanks for sharing the video too, it's cool to see Zbrush being used to rock out a hand painted texture on a low rez model.
Tadao215 : Thanks skankerzero : thanks, i was just finishing my texture while listening to you and the others on crunch cast. TonyClifton : thanks mate,i'm glad you like it Vorge : Thanks i appreciate it Rion411 : thanks mate Ravenslayer , MattQ86 , Graze : Thanks guys
Ok submission time,i already posted my finals,so i'll put this one image here,i tried to capture the movement of the players on that poster for actual game, but had some problems with framing them two, anyways i;m satisfied how it turned out in the end, thank you all for replies and comments i appreciate it

Here are some references i managed to gather from google, hope to have some initial 3d sketch done this weekend, now of to sleep :poly122:

Personally I like the longer arms in the top image, his limbs will look really cool when he is hunched over in the strike position.

some details i would model in though , especially the laises in his shorts and the metal bumps on that pad

Cheers!!
