Sci fi Gun concept

Hey people, I haven't really posted on this board for some time now as I have been held up with most my time being spent looking around for jobs. I made this sci fi gun just a few weeks back and would like a bit of crit on it. Just a note this was done in maya, rendered in keyshot and composited in Photoshop which I’m still in the progress of doing.

You need to look at actual, real-life gun reference. What you have there is a design which looks impossible to use and completely nonfunctional. The design is scattered with random lines and shapes, there is some strange writing on it and a red strip? Is a finger supposed to fit in that trigger guard? The textures seem like a procedural grunge map slapped on auto-unwrapped UVs - you have to strategically and artistically paint in details. Your bevels and edges are also far too tight to rip a nice normal map from. There are tons of generic looking sci-fi guns out there that look just like this; you really need to push the design and make it more unique with your own personal vision.

i like the design,but you need more organic shapes in some places.like the handle for instance,that would probably be uncomfortable to hold.the loop around the trigger should also not be as wide.
but cant wait to see the finished model,have fun!

Thanks for the comments guys, actually i came across this concept on google which is what I am using as reference.
