So, I'm using Max 2010 and every time I import a mesh it turns all my materials gray. And I mean EVERYTHING. Even the stuff that was created in that file get this gray film on it. Anyone know how to get rid of this?
It's particularly bad when I change the viewport settings to: "Show in Viewport as... Hardware Displays with Maps"
I'm working on the normal maps right now, so I have to turn that setting on in order to see them.

Then I tried importing them back into a New max file.
Here's my results: the FBX created that gray film regardless. As for the OBJs, they had no troubles whatsoever. I'm not sure what happened, but my layman's guess is that the FBX file got corrupted some where, some how. But this problem has sorta happen in Maya as well. So, I'm not sure what's going on.
Hotkey 8. For some reason, it change from default black to gray.
