JOB DESCRIPTION

Character Artist Intern will be responsible for optimizing next gen character assets for an upcoming AAA console title. Applicants should be familiar with creating high quality Zbrush models for game assets. Interns should also have experience with retopology tools and techniques for low poly assets created from Z brush sculpts. He/She will also be responsible for normal, specular, and diffuse texture creation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CONTENT CREATION:
Create low and high poly models that adhere to required specifications.
Create 3D character models built for rigging and animation as required.
Create high resolution models for normal map baking.
Create textures and materials for 3D models as required.
Meet production schedules and deadlines.
Review models in game for accuracy.
Troubleshoot character art issues from a creative and technical standpoint.

TEAMWORK:
Work with lead character artist to ensure delivery of high quality runtime character models.
Collaborate with technical artist team to ensure proper character set-up.
Have the ability to take direction and feedback well.
Self starter who pushes themselves to deliver high quality art


QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to model, texture quality 3D game res Characters
Good knowledge of Maya
Strong ZBrush Skills
Understanding of normal mapping techniques
Strong texture painting and UV mapping skills
Strong traditional art background
