Surf´s Up! I am going for a Surfer Mutant. He/She is a mixture of that Simpsons´ atomic fish, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and an average surfer. Actually I have tried to come up with a more female looking character (or less male looking), but it did not work out. The character was exposed to a lot of water contamination and therefore turned into a self-reproducing androgynous type. Also it suffers from a permanent ear infection and depends on heavy medication and the surf gear.
Any C&C more than welcome!

in the blockout the curve in his back is too exaggerated, now it looks like he has an enormous butt . also try to get the form of the ribcage in there, it feels like you sculpt a little too much in orthographic views instead of rotating and observing your forms from all angles.
gl ^^
The back actually will be exaggerated because of all the paddling the surfers do. I still got this idea that the character is a mixture of female and male. But(t) I think I will give the back and the front a little more muscles, so the back does not pop out so much. :P Thanks again!
How about flowerey surf trunks instead?
I still will try to stretch it more around his big head, like Ravenslayer said before.
I started to retopo the model to see where I am at right now. It has already around 2200 tris, therefore I will have to optimize the low poly mesh. Also I think now that all the detailed sculpting in ZBrush won´t show really...any thoughts on that?
At least a good divet would light/shadow better and probably bake all right. It won't be very visible and will be pretty small in game anyway.
A divet is when a golfer takes a chunk out of the grass. Basically just taking a few of those polys and extruding them inwards a bit should do it. Will add a few but should work alright for the bake.
he's so silly.
DockRock, thanks! Yeah, the mutant fish of The Simpsons is in the refs...:)
progress...
is it 31st or 7th, the deadline?
I would maybe consider getting a bit of change in the silhouette of the arms. Atm they are pretty straight all over. Add a bit of volume to the shoulder and lower arm and narrow the wrists a bit.
Does anyone know why the third eye does not show in marmorset? I exported the model and the 3 eyes as an .fbx from max. I have already fliped normals. In max´s viewport it is visible (see image before).
(3ds max viewport)
oooh yeah!!!
I will post my finals.
