So I'm going to be joining in and will be teaming up with Nitewalkr on this one. I'm going to be doing the hockey rink environment while he does the hockey player.
So to start out I did a blockout and I'm currently working on the paintover. Still gonna work on the crowd. But the basic theme I'm going for is snow+ribbed pewter/metal designs with a bone theme.
So here is the paintover for the rink
And here is the first sketch I did for what I want to get the goal nets to look like.
For the crowd I will probably have a combination of cave openings and metal/bone stands. I sort of wanted to stadium to be more vertical. Similar to how the Staples Center is. Also was thinking of having a Zamboni crashed through the jumbotron or crashed in a corner of the rink and a referee frozen under the ice.
It's a big panorama but this is what I basically mean.

And that's the gist of it. Going to keep working on a mix of blocking stuff out, working on smaller props and pieces and finishing up the paintover concept in the coming days.
