Hey guys, I have some models that have been rigged with biped with the physique modifier. Do any of you know a quick way to change the physique to skin modifier and keep the biped as well.
That is probably the easiest method, although I would then save out the skin weights and load them into the original mesh/rig, the FBX export/import might bork your skeleton in some weird ways.

Once you've done this you can use the SkinUtilities to transfer the weight back to the original model and biped.
Look in the max help for instructions on how to use SkinUtilities.
You can also use monsters skin2physique script, but there might be a reason he didn't mention it...
You can also copy your mesh, apply skinwrap, target the physique mesh and then convert to skin.
