Hi guys,
Despite so many cool games (read: distractions and seductions:)) coming out recently, I will try to give it a shot this time around (fingers crossed:)
The idea is still being processed, and I'll need to start actual modeling/texturing to flash it out better for myself lol, but here is the roughest idea and my major inspirations (not all, just some of them):P

Those guys supposed to be sort of old rusty ancient robot things buried in sand...

I'll still be figuring out the "retro" looks. Not sure yet which way I'll achieve that, but well, its a challenge

I like the idea. Somehow reminds of Brutal Legend, maybe you should look into that too for inspiration?
Also, so far I see you having a foreground(the field) and a background(the dudes) that are probably going to be the focal points on most of the shots. It would be awesome if you could accompany it with a proper background, so dudes will become the middleground and will read better.
Do you have any ideas for that? I mean, something behind the robots(even painted into the skybox to save on texture space) would really bring a sense of depth and reality to the scene, implying that "there's a world out there".
Looking forward to see this progress.
