Im still confused with the concept. I got the normal map (i dont know if its usable I can post screencaps by request.) I dont know how to wrap it around my lowpoly. Looking up workflows online is proving fruitless, any help would be apreciated.
if you baked a normal map in Xnormal you've already got a low poly model with UVs, just apply the normal map in max with your favorite shader - like Xoliul Shader or 3 Point Shader
with standard max materials put a normal bump in the bump channel, then put your normal map in the "normal" section of the Normal Bump. You'll have to switch to "show hardware map in viewport" in order to display it - click and hold on the blue checkerbox that displays your material and select the pink checkerbox.
I don't know anything about the node based material editor you've posted, I'm still on 2009 at work and home.
OR just try out the shaders I linked previously, they are better than the standard max materials.
Thanks guys! I apreciate it, Im on AFI (awaiting futher instruction at tech school.) So I have some free time to spare. ill post back if im successfull or have more probems.
