So the guy I have in mind is a potbellied, hunchbacked, nose picker that rides a hamster powered pocket bike. I have a bunch of ideas for the face. So far the hat (that will flap in the breeze) is the only thing I want to keep. I'm thinking if the head is asymmetrical I will go way overboard with it whereas in this concept it's pretty tame.

can't wait to see what other idea's you have cause that's a pretty tough one to top already.
Here are some more thumbnails. I'm still just scratching out some ideas. If anyone has preferences or comments please let me know. I kind of like the one with the little vestigial steering foot (which could also serve for picking). For the hat, rather than a crude middle finger I'm going to make a 3d "blurred" version. I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to do it. I also think I'm dropping the mini bike idea in favor of a cart or tricycle but I'm still unsure.
Thanks pity.
I don't really see anything to crit, but you could maybe add some belt loops, those are the kind of details that really help ground a piece (whether fantasy or not) in reality. And maybe some slightly over-sized stitches along various seam's?
ScudzAlmighty - thanks for the suggestions, I added belt loops. I'll add stitching as well.
JGcount- thanks as well, and done! I'll probably work on his face a bit more still.
Got most of the trike done this weekend, mostly modeled in Maya.
I'm not really happy with the spine. I think I'm going to try a larger more simplified version. Any stuggestions welcome. Also to come, 1200cc mutant-bred racing hamster.
Not much new on the character.
I have to do some tests with stuff like the wheels to see what I can get away with.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on color scheme. So far the cart is about 1500 triangles and the character is around 1500 so I'm not totally sure if I will get it much lower than that. Both are on 1 512 texture though.
I got most of the texturing done. I still have a few small details to finish along with a spec map. Here's what he looks like in toolbag.
Here are all the final images. (edit: these are taken in marmoset toolbag)
I was going to make the character to the character specs and the vehicle to the vehicle specs but there were never vehicle ones posted so I just tried to get everything to a reasonable level. In reality the character and vehicle would be 2 separate asset bundles but it was a fun challenge.
