your sketches have the head a little bigger on it, in your sketches the character is roughly 2 heads high where as your model is about 3 heads and dosnt' come off as quite so cute
Maybe the tentacles should be bigger. Right now they seem so minimal compared to details like the horn, they're pretty easy to miss but should stand out more imo.
looking much better now you've made the head bigger, i agree with Baddcog though, you've got great proportions in your sketch but your not really nailing them in your model. I'd say look into the size and shape of the horn, on your sketch its not as 'tall' but spirals sooner and helps the character feel balanced (it goes slightly further to the left as well), at the moment with your models horn so tall he looks a little like he may fall over.
Not a fan of the square eye sockets on the skull. You are trying to keep everything low... but those are using quite a bit for a not so great of an effect. Might be worth just painting them on.

Too long a break over christmas, but back on the horse again!
Apologies for the iffy colour, my max is being silly.
Adjusted the horn to be more balanced and to be a little closer to the sketch, texture stuff going on too...
Great sketch man!
Someone suggested making the flat of the blade smoother as apposed to letting it follow the edges of the geometry, as it is now, any thoughts?
Also, I just noticed my pics are being resized, is this photobucket or polycount?
HOW DO I FIX THIS!
Thanks for the crits and opinions
