Without knowing anything about the game, it's a little hard to say. Compositionally though, you've just got this big white hole smack dab in the center of the screen, and your eye just gets stuck there. Also, try messing around with the placement and scaling of your menu selections/title. It's rare that you see the title below the menu.
Neat elements and a good start. Legibility gets muddy from the line you've got coming towards "thilnoma" from the ship as it takes command of the information hierarchy to my eye. If its' the name of the ship or the game author, I’d keep it secondary to the title and the actionable elements of the screen: the menu. Visually the line is a neat element, so perhaps connect the game title with the menu items?
