Polycount bug: "1 new message"

Hey everyone - My account is getting a bug now where polycount.com/forum is showing I have 1 unread PM from someone, whereas the main domain / News shows 0 unread messages.

I am wondering if this is happening to anyone else or if its just my account?

He's always breaking stuff on Polycount.com, especially that username thing, one time I came on to find I was logged in as Belias. Almost had a heart attack! :P

I had it a week ago or so, and I had just pm'ed someone and was (am) waiting for an answer.

that happens on the frontpage to me sometimes, but it also calls me mighty pea, so i guess its just a session/uiserid mashup (when klicking on that it gets the id right, and you i cant actually see mighty peas unread messages)

The 1 unread message thing is probably linked to the usernames on the News page sometimes being borked, right?

If I got you right, I had that sort of thing a couple of times. I think it's just displays the messages of whoever the frontpage confuses you with.

actually I've had that happen a couple times where I've gotten a message but the notification doesn't go away unless I open it 3 or 4 times.

I've had what d1ver is talking about, but I think that's different. Adam seems to suggest this is a recurring problem for him.

~ Yeah I just realised I've had both things happen to me.

I think its like a cache thing. If it's showing up as "1 New Message" even though I've already opened it. I usually just hit Shift+F5 to refresh the page, and then it goes away.

No problems here though, other than that login bug on the news page.

It's clear what you must do. Your heart is impure and cannot read the PM, that is why it doesn't show up when you check your inbox.

You must do the pilgrimage again, and hopefully, in Talos' name, that PM will appear!

# series note:
Never had this problem here, but I did confront it on another forum where my inbox was full and it would always show me "1 unread message" after I cleaned it out. Maybe it has something to do with the other PM's that you couldn't receive as your inbox was full?
