force grid to draw behind everything else

I have this annoying problem with the grid, when you have splines or models at the 0,0,0, the grid keeps hiding the lines of the spline/model unless you select the model. Is there a way to force the grid to always show behind, without moving anything into the + space of the plane?

You can hide the grid.

Thats not a solution, I need the grid or else I won't have the problem. Would be like turning off the water from the waterplant, because I got a dripping tap.
