I was wondering!
you know how in microsoft office you can author documents and this authoring stays with the document and is very difficult to change - Well I was wondering if 3D Max and .OBJ files have a similar thing?
Well, you could probably add a comment line to a obj file by editing it in notepad or alike, though I doubt it'd stay once you import and re-export it etc. Gonna give that a go, so brb!
/edit: Yep, as expected, when importing the mesh it doesn't take the comment lines into consideration, I think at least, dunno how one would view em anyway.
So, when you export the mesh again, the exporter simply does its thing and writes a new file based on the object, discarding any previous information found in the imported object in terms of comments.
