Tiling Problem

Hey everyone I recently decided to get back into modelling after not doing so for a number of years now and I'm having trouble with the tiling on my reference plane. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it so my image shows up properly.

Thanks!

... apply a uvwmap modifier to the object from the view shown in the screenshot... then in the modifier click "view align" then click "fit"... then scale the plane (if necessary) to be the dimensions of the image (in sub-object mode with "preserve uvws" checkbox enabled ... or punch the dimensions in the plane width and length params if it's still a plane object... or:

delete what you have and create a plane with the correct proportions and before doing anything apply that material to it... it should work dandy.

all new plane objects are created with their coordinates mapped 0 to 1 unless otherwise specified somehow (don't know how, but somehow)

I watched a video of some dude making it look easier than it actually is... he like made the plane and the applied the map and everything was the right proportions in the uvws and he was all like scaling the plane and shit with no problems... was kinda magical. Dunno what button he pushed to do that though. more investigation required. he may have photoshoped it...
