HEY, 2D/CONCEPT ART GUYS!

Is there any interest in joining me in some challenges/activities? There are a bunch of us updating our sketchbooks several times a week who don't really post all too much in p&p, and I'd love to get more of a sense of community with you guys going. Concept tag is awesome, but we need more diversity in activities.

Assuming Adam and company don't have anything official in mind or any objections:

I'm thinking of starting a thread in p&p with a weekly or biweekly subject for concept art. Something fun with a lot of room to interpret; nothing serious or academic to distract from our personal projects, and not a competition, per say, but something cool that we can all enjoy working on and sharing. I'd want it to be very casual, no restrictions about entry or presentation, more of a design/sketch jam than anything else.

Some of the subjects I had in mind:
-designs or redesigns for tf2
-redesigns based on retro videogames or TV shows of your choice
-Superhero redesigns
-Specifically themed creature designs. 'Boogeyman' or 'witch' -- staying open to interpretation.

I'm just finishing up the CG Workshops "Become a Better Artist" course which is all about digital 2d art, so I'll probably be looking for a good incentive to practice what I've learned.

Awesome. Will post a thread for this up in p&p tomorrow -- redesigns of retro games was my favorite idea too, so we'll start on that unless everybody but Jack and me objects.

Sounds like a great idea!! I've been pretty focused on animation lately, but if I need a 2D break, I will totally head on over and take a crack at it!!
