Had to create an account to hopefully get an answer to my question.
I am working on a UDK level and have already created the landscape and material. It consists of 5 textures, 4 2k, and 1 1k. As you can see from the screenshot below, they apply and work fine:

However, when I apply a normal map to each of the corresponding textures, I simply get the default material as seen below:

But strangely enough, the very far distant part of my map has the texture and the normal both working:

I have searched may posts and have come up with no solution. I have tried repainting but it does not work. If anyone here has a solution, I would be extremely thankful.

I appear to have solved my own problem. For anyone having this issue or a similar one, My problem is that UDK does not like to have more than 4 diffuse/normals running at the same time. I don't know how to change this but the solution is simply using 4.
