Sup 'count. First time back in awhile. I've done a good amount of freelance cg animation by taking the self-taught route. All of these assignments were only related to game asset creation in that I made them with the same software (maxmayac4dshop etc) So why did I make this thread? I would love to add to my portfolio game art and animation. I know the software, the technicals, but I still feel my art skills lack a foundation to make my projects really shine.
The big glaring challenge I must overcome of course is that anatomy. It is a beast which fragments I have slowly understood and been successful with over the years, but still the big picture eludes me.
I live and do freelance in the area now and the Gnomon classes on figure drawing and anatomy seem to be a great choice. I'm talking about the individual courses and not the one year program. Anybody here take those particular classes or any related to traditional art training at Gnomon? I'd love to hear feedback.

Registration starts this December. The site mentions drawing samples are recommended. Would they care about seeing a reel too? My aim is to get a proper 2d portfolio. I'll shoot for about 2 new figure drawing samples then.
Anatomy and Figure Drawing (a prerequisite) are the two I'm choosing. Will most likely try a painting class and perspective as well. I think the stuff I'll learn will help me make more sense of the things like improving my character models/sculpts, anatomy skills for my 2d traditional animations, and of course, texture painting.
not just for games, but invaluable knowledge for all my cg work. Don't really need any software classes, any other in particular?
