here is my start, on my mexican character i know i lacks character at the moment but its only an early start this about 5 hours worth of sculpting and posing
on the way now, face and clothes still need work. Thinking of just resculpting the front and back of the shirt, it will be easyer than fixing what is there,
but as i thought i had a hand in today i have rendered out where im at so far.
He's looking pretty good. I think you've gone a bit heavy on the shirt wrinkles though. Compare it to your reference images. At this point you've got wrinkles in places where they wouldn't logically form like on the loose part where it's untucked.
should have named this thread something else :P
basically i have to have a new showreel piece every two weeks at university so every 2 weeks i post something new havnt really had much time to post recently though as i have a million other projects to do aswell, but here is this weeks character
update on the texturing its taken me alot longer than i though to finnish one piece while juggling 3 other but here is my bobby he isnt final but hes close any crit would be welcome
at the moment i ma using 2 1k textures for his body and face
A lot of good progress the Bobby especially, but Im wondering, is there any reason you're skipping the ears? I noticed that on the Mexican and the Bobby they aren't actually defined.
thanks n88tr i took into consideration what you said and have made a bunch of changes
what do you think?
sorry i didn't reply sooner been stupidly busy with uni work
polycount:8,993
tricount:17,430
face close up
full body
after going to Brighton and finding more reference the hat is completely wrong
so back to the drawing board on that one but its nice and simple so it shouldn't take to long
little update in what ive been doing
as well as all the mod characters im working on at the moment i have decided to take a few hours and test myself to do a speed sculpt of a a bit of 2D art so i took this lovley concept i found
and spent a few hours quickly sculpting it up in zbrush
ended up with this it isnt finnished but then again 3D never is
Nice job dude. Feel like you've gotten the feeling of the concept. I'd say the jaw looks flimsy from the side though. It doesn't have any muscle or meat that would attach it to the skull.
anytime lroy thanks for taking the time to look at my work and comment
he has a book that you can trade money for
*cough* buy it *cough*
I fully agree with the jaw I was looking at it this morning thinking it doesn't look right but I may jump back onto it at some point and fix it but its back to uni work for now.
ive been abit quiet recently but thats mainly because i have been either sleeping, working or seeing frank turner and primus
but here is the latest piece baked out to around 7k

and with the wireframe
wires
most of it has been cleaning and he's textured by 2 texture sheets now instead of 1 for every individual bake.
and his wires, he's just over 10k polys at the moment but alot of them will be cut out in the fianl mesh
